Happy BD, WW!

Well, today’s my Wonder Woman’s birthday anniversary, so this is “pre-posted” and I’m mostly “offline” until the day is done. Just thought that while I’m out for a while on Saturday, I’d leave this lil “mending walls” thought with you…

Central planning and other pillars of the kakistocratic “progressives” is working well, worldwide. *cough* Yeh, well, the principles of self-proclaimed “progressives” (formerly claiming—falsely—to be liberals but really just closet—or not—communists) is working very well… at providing us with very good bad examples, warnings of what NOT to do.

Take Zimbabwe as an argumentum ad absurdum against the communist agenda now calling itself “progressives”. Yeh, yeh, that’s generally a fallacy of reasoning, but when such a sterling example of the outcome of kakistocratic kleptocrats exists, why not hold it up as a warning?

For those of y’all who may have missed it in history/geography/whatever-they-call-it today in school, Zimbabwe was once Rhodesia, arguably the most prosperous and productive country in Africa. Britain ceded colonial rule, turned it over to the indigenous peoples, and the world has watched as typically kleptovratic rule veneered with typical progressive/communist platitudes turned Rhodesia into Zombabwe, one of the most pathetic excuses for a country on the face of the globe today.

Zimbabwe Toilet Paper

That’s a picture of a Zimbabwe $20 bill. It’s no longer in circulation, because of the rampant inflation in Zimbabwe. Consider this lil tidbit from an April 25 NYT article:

How bad is inflation in Zimbabwe? Well, consider this: at a supermarket near the center of this tatterdemalion capital, toilet paper costs $417.

No, not per roll. Four hundred seventeen Zimbabwean dollars is the value of a single two-ply sheet. A roll costs $145,750 in American currency, about 69 cents.

The price of toilet paper, like everything else here, soars almost daily, spawning jokes about an impending better use for Zimbabwe’s $500 bill, now the smallest in circulation.

Oops. That information’s hopelessly outdated. The $500 bill is no longer the smallest in circulation, because it’s being withdrawn. After all, it’s only worth about one swaure of toilet tiissue.

So, anyone left with old Zimbabwe $20s really is better off using them as toilet paper…

Or to light dung fires to cook their food. Hmmm… maybe the dung is worth more…

Thanks for being such a good bad example, Zimbabwe!

Next time you meet a “progressive” (code name for communist, formerly a so-called liberal), Tell him/her you’d be happy to give ’em $1,500,000 to move to Zimbabwe. Just don’t tell ’em it’d be in Zimbabwean currency. (Heck, at about $7.00 a pop, American, I’d be happy to pay a few to leave the country, myself.) Get any takers, it’d at least move another barbarian outside the walls… *heh*

And maybe later I’ll have time to play Whack-a-Mole at TMH’s Bacon Bits (though I’d still rather whack a commie-fag-junkie—”Workerth of the World Unite… and accessorize!” [with apologies to Geirge Carlin… sorta]).

Stop the ACLU Blogburst

From John Stephenson at Stop the ACLU:

Via WND

Ruling on a 15-year-old ACLU case, a federal judge today ordered the city of San Diego to remove a mountain-top cross within 90 days or face a fine of $5,000 a day. U.S. District Judge Gordon Thompson said, “It is now time, and perhaps long overdue, for this court to enforce its initial permanent injunction forbidding the presence of the Mount Soledad cross on city property,” the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. Thompson ruled in 1991 the Mount Soledad cross violates the so-called “separation of church and state” but the case has remained in courts and become an issue of public policy for more than a decade. ACLU lawyer James McElroy believes San Diego officials finally will give up their fight. “I don’t think the city has its heart in taking more action,” he said, according to the paper. A city lawyer argued during the hour-long court hearing today that citizens had voted for transfer of the land under the cross. Proposition A, passed by 75 percent in July, called for the city to donate the cross to the federal government as the centerpiece of a veterans memorial. The ballot initiative came about after the city refused to donate the cross and memorial to the federal government. A group called San Diegans for the Mount Soledad National War Memorial took just 23 days to gather 105,000 signatures. In a ruling now on appeal, however, a Superior Court judge found the transfer unconstitutional. The Union-Tribune said the group behind the public vote on transfer likely will appeal Thompson’s decision. The 29-foot cross has stood on Mount Soledad as the center of a war memorial on city land since 1954. The first cross on the site was built in 1913. A bill authorizing the federal government to take over the memorial was authored by Republican U.S. Reps. Duncan Hunter and Randy Cunningham. President Bush signed the bill into law in December.

The ACLU are constantly seeking to censor America’s history. In my interview with former ACLU lawyer, Rees Lloyd, it was described to me with clarity. Lloyd said:

Mending Walls—Education

Many of the problems facing the U.S. today—public misinfornmation about immigration, the economy, energy, to name a few—can largely be laid at the feet of our modern prisons for kids (also called by those who know or little care, “public education”). The Random Yak spotlights a minor area of miseducation that implies volumes about the rest of “education” in our modern prisons for kids in his piece at The real Ugly American, “Average geographic literacy…makes me ill.”

…an interesting new study being reported this week shows that nearly 1/3 of young Americans polled cannot find Louisiana or Mississippi on a map.

That’s a labeled map.

Of the United States.

Now, that’s surprising. What’s surpriseing to me is that 2/3 could find Louisiana and Mississippi. After all, recent college graduates didn’t fare that well comprehending the contents of newspaper editorials. According to a recent survey (see here as well) half of college grads can sound or puzzle out words, but are clueless when it comes to comprehending the content of a newspaper editorial.

Where did the walls start to fall in public schools, allowing the barbarians (educrats, Academia Nuts and the generally clueless, lazy and incompetent) take over the show? Much as I hate to admit it, the worst breach in the walls came when Dwight Eisenhower sent in the troops to enforce desegregation. Laudable as the goal was, letting the federal camel in to poop on the rug was a bad idea.

And things have gotten steadily worse ever since.

Or does anyone want to argue that despite doubling spending per pupil (in real dollars adjusted for inflation) in the last thirty years that the “product” of that spending is NOT less well-informed and able to gather and understand information than previously?

If there are folks who want to attempt that argument, may I once again refer you to The Random Yak’s short disquisition on geographic illiteracy?

“If an unfriendly foreign power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war.”—A Nation At Risk – April 1983

What to do?

Now that the barbarians are on the inside, as it were, and have built the walls back up to protect what is now their turf, what shall we do to build proper walls around the education system for future generations of Americans? (Well, I hope there’s time to provide for future generations of Americans, rather than simply succomb to invasion and become “Aztlanians” or full-fledged Dhimmis. *sigh*)

First, tear down the wall!

Breach the educrappic wall with freedom of choice. The problem was created politically; fix it politically by pressuring your congresscritters, state reps and local pols to accept and implement a voucher system so that parents—all parents, not just the rich, the politically well-connected, etc.—will have a real choice about where their children attend school. Sure, some will stick with pubschool prisons for kids for a variety of reasons—stupidity, laziness, lack of caring for their childrem and even in some very rare cases because the local pubschool is pretty decent.

But enough will vote with their feet to create a breach in the wall.

After that, it’s up to the parents to assure that their children excel*. If—IF—the next generation really does achieve a level of education that dwarfs the pitiful experience of their parents, then maybe, just maybe, it’ll be a little harder for Mass Media Podpeople, Academia Nuts and Political Poltroons to continue pulling the wool over their eyes.

And this dream can happen. Unless… unless a coupla things work together in poisonous synergy: a desire among Mass Media Podpeople, Academia Nut “education” professors and Political Poltroons to keep the masses stupid (thus protecting the turfs of these scum) and… laziness, compounded by wilfull stupidity and ignorance, among the masses.

Lil test question: What book have you read recently that is mentally stimulating, challenging and informative? did you simply accept its message/contents uncritically, or did you challenge and affirm or deny its contents by your own digging into the background facts?

FairTax Blogburst/Open Trackback Alliance Post

This is an Open Trackback Alliance Post. Link to this post and track back. See the foot of the post for more information.

Well, it’s finally happened. We’ve received a dissenting opinion about the validity of the FairTax.

In the interests of fairness, we will publish this video post in the hope that it will stimulate debate. It was sent in by Cao of Cao’s blog (who is getting way too good at these video posts, to my way of thinking).

Funny, I thought she supported the FairTax. Well, you can make your own decision about that, I suppose. At any rate, we do want to give Cao full credit for this week’s video post, and encourage readers to visit this blog next week for part 2 of her (dare I call it “unhinged”?) rant against the FairTax.

Thanks, Cao, for making us think!

Gobsmacked, any?/Tuesday Open Post

Open Post for May 2. Link to this post and track back. More info below the “point to ponder”…

Just a small point to ponder:

Gleaned from “LawS: Know TheM,” at Woman Honor Thyself,

Title 8:
Section 1325. Improper entry by alien
(a) Improper time or place; avoidance of examination or inspection; misrepresentation and concealment of facts
Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers,
or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers,
or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.

Hmmm… seems as though the common understanding that only three of the 9-11 hijackers were in the country illegally is false. None of the others revealed on their visa apps that the purpose of their stay was to “fly planes into buildings causing the deaths of thousands of non-combatants” in their self-declared (though not on their visa apps) war on the U.S.

So ALL of them were illegal aliens. That goes a long way toward explaining why so many progressives” are so hot to have more illegals in country, eh?

Death Tolls

The Nazis killed approximately 11,283,000 people.

Stalin alone was responsible for killing nearly 62,000,000.

Pikers. Rachel Carson and the greenies who took up her lies in Silent Spring have been responsible for killing anywhere from 50,000,000 to 500,000,000* people in the 25 years since the use of DDT has almost disappeared because of their lies.

(*It all depends on who’s counting and whether they count the actual deaths from malaria or deaths caused by ancilliary issues. The 500,000,000 figure is quite likely high. The 50,000,000 probably low.)

Just a lil bright, sunny Tuesday morning thought…

Maintaining perspective…

Jerry Pournelle offers an unique perspective on The Great Alien Invader Demonstration, today:

Today is supposed to have a demonstration of how awful life will be if all the illegal aliens take off.

In Southern California, at least, this has been a good day: the freeways were clear, the traffic was low, people were driving rationally. It took us well under 3 hours to get home from San Diego, and the radio reports tell us of freeways the way they were in the 1980’s. The Macdonalds in El Toro may have been understaffed, but not greatly so.

I could live this way for a long time. The freeways were not designed to accommodate millions of illegal aliens, just as our hospital system was not designed for that kind of non-paying traffic.

Could they continue this rally for the rest of the summer?

All I can add is, “Heh. Indeed.”

Mending Walls—keeping their word

Although the very idea of keeping one’s word is a “wall” our entire society needs to mend, what of our leaders? Isn’t their responsibility as examples, as leaders important? What of the oath of office President Bush (and before him, Clinton, Bush I and President Reagan, et al) took upon ascending to office?

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

How does that square with the last 30 years’ pandering to illegal aliens? Was Reagan actually “faithfully execut[ing] the office of President of the United States” when he extended amnesty to a whole class of outlaws any more than President Bush is proposing doing today with his “guest worker” de facto amnesty? In what way is welcoming an alien invasion preserving, protecting and defending the Constitution or even the peoples of the United States? Doesn’t his oath obligate him to do everything within his power to protect our borders, enforce our laws and protect the rights of citizens? How is President Bush NOT in violation of his oath of office?

Can anyone explain that to me? I mean without using nonsense?

And what of our congresscritters?

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

Again, does surrender to a foreign invasion (or aiding and abetting in the breaking of our laws and the violation of our borders, our national security and the rights of our citizens) constitute “fully discharg[ing] the duties” of a congresscritter?

BTW, besides congresscritters, the second oath is also taken by the vice president, cabinet officers, judges and justices, military officers, and all other civil federal employees. How then can any of them who do not forcefully and faithfully pursue arrest and deportation of ALL illegal aliens NOT be in violation of their oath. Where are the federal LEOs in all this?

Make careful note of those politicians who deem their oaths of office to be simply words, not binding contracts to be held to. Watch those who go whoring after plaudits (or attempting to avoid jeers) from Mass Media Podpeople by pandering to the noise demanding open borders. Look carefully at the words and deeds of those who have for many years done everything in their power to weaken this country. While I would suggest that the best solution for such behavior would be trial (and conviction) for treason, perhaps the best we can hope for is that you, and everyone you can influence, do everything in your power to throw the bums out!

Voting them out, petitions, even impeachment (and yes, as steadfastly as I have supported President Bush in the past, I am compelled to say that I believe his surrender to the invasion forces is a “high crime” indeed… *sigh*). Whatever we can do to get rid of them is not enough, and whenever we can get rid of them not soon enough.

And we–we need to keep our words true. Commit to working to throwing the bums out and work to make it so.

I could go for a better policy on illegal immigration, along the lines of the soft-on-illegals and those who aid and abet in their crimes (*heh*) policies suggested by Brian Bonner [N.B. Buster kindly pointed out in comments that it was he who authored the points below, and the post at The Uncoorperative Blogger was a crosspost from his blog, InMuscatine. Thanks for showing me the error of my ways, Buster!]:

  1. 70% tariff on all monies wired to Mexico.
  2. [too small a tarrif, IMO-ed.]

  3. Removal of punishments on employers for digging to find out if you are an illegal alien.
  4. Mandatory 25-year jail terms for employers caught hiring illegal aliens. [to this an all the following jail terms I’d add “at hard labor”-ed.]
  5. Mandatory 25-year jail terms for landlords renting to illegal aliens.
  6. Mandatory 25-year jail terms for bank officers loaning money to illegal aliens.
  7. Power of arrest given to any citizen who suspects someone is an illegal alien, just like in Mexico.
  8. Deportation without due process, just like they have in Mexico.
  9. Change the laws to reflect felony status for being an illegal alien, just like in Mexico.
  10. Change the laws to levy a minimum 10 year sentence of hard labor if convicted of being an illegal alien
  11. Change the laws to levy a minimum 30 day sentence for the author(s) and/or editor(s) who publish editorials supporting illegal immigration.

But I could do without even those slight improvements to the laws, if our President would require federal employees to actively, vigorously and stringently enforce the laws already on the books or face the harshest penalties allowed by law for violation of oaths of office, and if congresscritters and the administration worked together to actively and stringently guard and defend our borders.

It’s not enough, but it’d be a start. Just actually observing their oaths of office would palliate my outrage.

The Proper Display of the Mexican Flag on American Soil

N.B. I would never advocate disrespectful displays of a nation’s flag on its own soil. But since we have this (among other) example of reconquistadores’ view of the proper placement and display of the American flag on our soil…

Burn the one on top

…I’m prompted to offer this public service announcement suggesting proper ways to display the “Aztlan” flag on OUR soil. Sadly, I was unable to obtain a few Mexican flags for use in this demonstration (this is America’s Third World Countyâ„¢ after all) on short notice, so I simply printed some out for use.

…here’s an image of one way to properly display the Alien Invaders’ Flag:

Mexican flag? NO!

But I prefer this one:

Displaying Aztlan Flag

I have more, in various different states of disrepair, delapidation and distress. Feel free to manufacture your own and make free use of them today and on “Sinko duh Mayo”…

Oh, and Cinco de Mayo observances in the United States? When Mexicans in Mexico and the U.S. start honoring our Fourth of July properly, AND the government and citizens of Mexico begin to show a little respect for our laws AND our national anthem, I’ll consider hanging up my “Disrespect their stinking holiday/flag/national anthem hat.” Until then, let them eat… mayo.
