Beltway Lobotomized

Peggy Noonan, writing in the WSJ, demonstrates once again that becoming a Beltway Pundit requires a lobotomy.

It all seems rather mad, doesn’t it? The decision to become involved militarily in the Libyan civil war couldn’t take place within a less hospitable context. The U.S. is reeling from spending and deficits, we’re already in two wars, our military has been stretched to the limit, we’re restive at home, and no one, really, sees President Obama as the kind of leader you’d follow over the top. “This way, men!” “No, I think I’ll stay in my trench.” People didn’t hire him to start battles but to end them. They didn’t expect him to open new fronts. Did he not know this?

Peggy Noonan used to be rather bright until she had a Beltway Lobotomy. What The Zero is doing seems patently obvious to anyone who’s taken even a cursory glance at his background. Peggy, if you’d been studying The Zero’s playbook (Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” and the Cloward-Piven Strategy), you’d know he needs everything he can throw at the U.S. to wreck the economy and strain government services to the breaking point–and beyond–in order to bring down the whole country.

Further: Noonan writes, “In fact, this may turn out to be true: If Gadhafi survives, the crisis will go on and on. If Gadhafi falls, the crisis will go on and on.”

No it won’t Peggy. Not really. If Gadhafi survives, Libya will be under the heel of an Islamic tyrant. If he does not survive, it will be under the heel of another Islamic tyrant. Heck, this is an even easier prognostication than when Dhimmi Kahtah handed the reins to Islamic Mullahs in Iran through a fumble-handed undercutting of the Shah. And the “crisis” will end, as far as The Zero and his partners in crime are concerned, as soon as it (and other “crises” manufactured and managed for his purposes) has brought down the U.S.

The Zero is not some mad buffoon wildly lurching from crisis to crisis; his is a well-known and well-advertised strategy, plainly obvious to his partners in crime and anyone else with more active brain cells than a head of cabbage.

Noonan does (accidentally?) make a couple of commonsense points: that there is nothing obviously in the interest of the U.S.’s national security at stake in Libya, and that what strategy there exists in the Libyan adventure is murky at best, although she minces words on both points, as a Good Beltway Insider must in order to remain an insider…

If You Prefer Your Coffee With Cream…

…you must be a racist, if one were to judge by the standards of The Zero’s allies and other assorted leftards. Why, oh why, can you not appreciate BLACK coffee?

[This micro-mini-rant brought about by a dumbass commenter in another forum who accused me of being racist–and of being excessively “white” and a “hater” whatever that means–for my lack of appreciation for the finer points of The Zero’s policies. I predicted this sort of thing when The Zero first announced his presidential candidacy, but that doesn’t mean I enjoy having been prophetic.]

Understanding “Presidents Day”

(Thanks to a commenter, Becky Sorensen, on FB for the kickoff to this post.)

A lady was eating lunch with her daughter and 10 year old grandson
last week when his mom asked him “What is tomorrow?”

He said “It’s President’s Day”

She asked “Do you know what that means?”.

He said “President’s Day is when Obama steps out of the White House
and if he sees his shadow we have 2 more years of unemployment and
stupidity.”

From the mouths of babes… But I’d almost prefer Presidents Day be viewed as a whack-a-mole game than as Groundhog Day, though… (I mean, after all, it honors the First Great American Tyrant as part of its purpose, as well as honoring the Father of Our Country. *heh* Playing whack-a-mole with the current occupant of the White House seems appropriate.)

😉

The Makers vs. The Takers

Take away?

“The recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report citing systemic high
unemployment for the past two years shows that of the approximately
300 million Americans, only 47% of adults have full-time jobs. It’s a
mind-boggling statistic: 53%– or a majority — of American adults do
not work. The repercussions for our country are dire, despite the
White House proclaiming the recent Labor report as good news.”

Now, there are several classes among that 53%, and not all of them are
“takers” as the writer of the article posits (for but one example,
stay-at-home moms with a supportive and supportING husbands
), but enough of them are that the divide is stark.

For The Zero

…and his ilk. From Sir Walter Scott’s “The Lay of the Last Minstrel”

Breathes there the man, with soul so dead,
Who never to himself hath said,
This is my own, my native land!
Whose heart hath ne’er within him burn’d,
As home his footsteps he hath turn’d,
From wandering on a foreign strand!
If such there breathe, go, mark him well;
For him no Minstrel raptures swell;
High though his titles, proud his name,
Boundless his wealth as wish can claim;
Despite those titles, power, and pelf,
The wretch, concentred all in self,
Living, shall forfeit fair renown,
And, doubly dying, shall go down
To the vile dust, from whence he sprung,
Unwept, unhonor’d, and unsung.

Amen.

Hoist With Their Own Petard

Nanny-nanny-boo-boo@The Zero, “Nazi Pelozi” and “Hairy Reed”.

😛

*heh*

I noted this on FB yesterday, but it’s worth a “real” post.

Health Judge Uses Obama’s Words Against Him

“I note that in 2008, then-Senator Obama supported a health care reform proposal that did not include an individual mandate because he was at that time strongly opposed to the idea, stating that, ‘If a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house,’” Judge Vinson wrote in a footnote toward the end of his 78-page ruling Monday.

Not only that, but the dumbasses Reid and Pelosi failed to put a severability clause in their multi-thousand-page monstrosity, so,

“Because the individual mandate is unconstitutional and not severable, the entire Act must be declared void.”

Hoist with their own petard, indeed.

Play and repeat twice:

“Birthers”?

Word from the White House–I suppose–via Robert Gibbs, The Zero’s mouthpiece,

“I think rational people have — have long ago, many when they first heard and saw the president, come to the conclusion of his citizenship.”

What’s not rational about asking The Zero to simply release his records like other politicians have? It’d cost him maybe $25 to, oh, perhaps $50 tops, to obtain a certified copy of his official birth certificate and then release it for public view. Less to release records of his college years, more than likely, by just sending his colleges permission to release records.

Instead, he and his minions have spent millions of dollars fighting to prevent release of his records. What in the world is rational about that?

Unless, of course, he has something devastating to hide.

UPDATE: on the fundamental irrationality of Gibbs’ argument, Nicole has this to say in comments:

What in hearing and seeing Obama would offer any proof that he was born in the US?

What proof indeed. The question is rhetorical, of course. Simply seeing and hearing a person is no proof of nationality or native birth. I have friends who sound like they might have been foreign-born and others who certainly look different to the great majority of Americans, but I wouldn’t adjudge them as foreigners based on appearance. OTOH, I know some Canadians who sound for all the world like North Dakotans an d look as “American” (whatever that means) as you or I.

Gibbs’ argument is not only irrational; it is stupid. And it seems no one at the presser called him on it. Is it any wonder I view the Mass MEdia Podpeople Hivemind as completely unworthy of my attention save as a class to mock?

Oh, and that derogatory “birthers” term so bruited about by the Mass MEdia Podpeople Hivemind? Simply a way of diverting attention from the real question: if there’s nothing to hide, why not release records at least as comprehensive as were demanded by that same Hivemind–and then lied about–of Bush II or even that his opponent in the 2008 election freely released? Why?

Rational people deserve a clear answer, not irrational derogation.

The Hivemind just cannot keep its narrative straight. Last week, Mike Evans said this:

Now, he says,

“Only this I can you tell you is 100 percent fact: that Neil never told me there was no birth certificate… I never talked to him.”

Is it any wonder that reasonable people have questions? Only the insane (or those who are highly invested in The Zero’s agenda) wouldn’t.

Signs Spur Twaddle

I saw this over at The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiller and went searching for a larger version of the featured sign on the web:

Of course, this commonsense statement of the obvious about The Zero resulted in the Usual Suspects uttering the typical banal racist twaddle (a local CBS station’s site, of course):

And then, there’s [sic*] people traveling through on the Interstate like Greyson Johnston, from Dallas.

He saw the billboard shortly after he saw the Bruceville-Eddy city limits sign.

“I’m not real political, at all, but I mean, he is the first black president, ever, and you know,” Johnston says, “You’re gonna have people that hate him, you’re gonna have people that like him.”

Dumbass racist. Oh, the “[sic*]”? “People” is plural. The dumbass Mass MEdia Podpeople Hivemind “reporter” wrote, “And then, there’s [“there IS”] people… ” instead of “there ARE”–indicating that the writer, typical of Hiveminders, can’t count past one.

There is apparently a superabundance of dumbasses in the Hivemind and its lobotomized sycophants, as the above is typical of “news reportage” on the sign.

Of course, that sign (which has apparently been up since August, though this is the first I’ve seen it) hasn’t drawn nearly the fire that this one did:

Narurally, the Hivemind and assorted leftards, idiots and liars (but I repeat myself) made a lot of hay out of this one by citing it as an example of the lowest of ad hominem attacks, the so-called “Hitler fallacy”. What all that hand-waving and finger-pointing and name-calling was in aid of, obviously, was obscuring the simple fact that if one were to simply state many the social and political policies of Hitler,Mao and Obama in plain English, one would be hard pressed to tell them apart. Indeed, their ideologies and rhetoric (and behavior, come to think of it) all have much, much more in common than they show differences.

But arguing facts is never in the interest of the Hivemind and its fellow travelers.

The Zero “Donkey Ears” Himself…

Yeh, he’s been beclowning himself from the inauguration on, but recall your (distant?) youth, the childish “donkey earing” of another child? Barry Hussein Obama-Soetoro apparently believes in preemptively “donkey-earing” himself…

Finally, The Zero shows some sort of connection to reality, but being The Zero, it’s a childish one.
