Lil tip: for those sites that absolutely REFUSE to allow downloads of video content (including some decent DIY content on FarceBook “reels”), the lightest weight solution I have tried is Screenrec (you have fingers and a search bar). (Anything under one minute I DGARA about copyright. Instructional use of less than one minute’s content is fair use, especially when deleted before legal time limit.)
Note: don’t use recording of streaming content for NON Fair Use content/usage. Not worth the hassle, IMO.
On other “gatekeeper” info-sites: DO “stick it to the man” when research sites try to limit your access to information, though. Seek workarounds, because everyone along the info-pipe on those sites has already been paid to generate that content, almost always by YOUR money, from research grants to publication.
