This week’s STACLU blogburst post is from Gribbit.
Today the American Civil Liberties Union issued a press release which is featured on their website’s “Newsroom” page that is titled, “ACLU Hails Rhode Island Department of Education Efforts to Stop the Use of Harmful “Abstinence-Only-Until-Marriage” Curriculum in Public Schools“. Only the ACLU and a liberal state like Rhode Island could find abstaining from sexual activity harmful.
The fact is that abstinence is the only form of birth control and STD prevention that works 100% that it is employed. By practicing the ultimate in safe sex, NO SEX, no children are unnecessarily slaughtered in the name of choice, no drugs are being used in order to prevent pregnancy for the sake of promiscuity, and no one will need to be treated for sexually transmitted diseases. So what is the ACLU’s difficulty with teaching this effective form of birth control? Homosexuals in this nation cannot be married in any other state than Massachusetts. And no other state except Massachusetts recognizes marriages performed to same sex couples. If abstinence is taught as it should be, as the ONLY effective form of birth control and STD prevention, homosexuals will not be receiving the indoctrination that the ACLU believes that they should.
By accepting that teenagers are going to have sex before marriage and taking a position of defeatism in the war to prevent this from occurring, we are then telling teenagers to go ahead and have sex. This is akin to telling your child not to shop lift but if they are going to anyway to not get caught. Then teaching them methods on not getting caught as opposed to teaching them to just plain not do it.
Here are some teasers adapted from Americans for Fair Taxation:
With the Fair Tax proposal for replacing ALL Federal taxes with one Federal sales tax,
Americans [would] take home their whole paychecks. [There would be n]o federal sales tax up to the poverty level means progressivity like today’s tax system. No tax on used goods. The amount you pay to fund the government is totally visible. Retail prices [would] no longer hide corporate taxes or their compliance costs, which drive up costs for those who can least, afford to pay. The income tax exports our jobs, rather than our products. The FairTax brings jobs home. The FairTax strategy is revenue neutrality: Neither raise nor lower taxes so consumer costs remain stable. [The FairTax would] tax criminals – [not] make criminals out of honest taxpayers.
The FairTax plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll taxes with an integrated approach including a progressive national retail sales tax, a rebate to ensure no American pays federal taxes up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar revenue neutrality, and the repeal of the 16th Amendment. This nonpartisan legislation (HR 25/S 25) abolishes all federal personal, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, self-employment, and corporate taxes and replaces them all with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax – collected by existing state sales tax authorities. The FairTax taxes us only on what we choose to spend, not on what we earn. It does not raise any more or less revenue; it is designed to be revenue neutral. So it is also cost neutral – the final cost for goods and services changes little under the FairTax. The FairTax is a fair, efficient, transparent, and intelligent solution to the frustration and inequity of our current tax system

Yes, it is that important.

Yep, OTA Wednesday. See the foot of the post for info on linking to this post and tracking back.
I have had one person honestly question my taunting and ridiculing of Muslims and Islam based on Matthew 5:44-45,
“Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those you hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you, and persecute you that you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven.”
Fine. I’ll take up that gauntlet, thrown by a genuine questioner…
First and foremost… GO SIGN THE PETITION!!!! Thank you!
I’m sure our readers are already well aware of the news out of Afghanistan about a man, Abdul Rahman, who is on trial for his life for converting to Christianity. Doug from Below the Beltway, asks “And these are the people we helped liberate?” and quotes a VOA News article:
On Thursday the prosecution told the court Rahman has rejected numerous offers to embrace Islam.
Prosecuting attorney Abdul Wasi told the judge that the punishment should fit the crime.
He says Rahman is a traitor to Islam and is like a cancer inside Afghanistan. Under Islamic law and under the Afghan constitution, he says, the defendant should be executed.
Excuse me, but how is this substantially different from the restrictions and tyranny of the Taliban?
ABC News (on page two) quotes the judge who is apparently presiding over this case –
The post-Taliban constitution recognizes Islam as Afghanistan’s religion, and decrees that Islam’s Sharia law applies when a case is not covered by specific legislation. The prosecutor says under Sharia law, Abdul Rahman must die.
The judge, however, holds hopes for a solution.
“We will ask him if he has changed his mind about being a Christian,” Mawlazezadah says. “If he has, we will forgive him, because Islam is a religion of tolerance.”
This is not tolerance, this is INTOLERANCE. So much for the so-called “Religion of Peace”! I can just imagine the outcry and rage of everyone if we swapped religions: if this man were on trial for his life because he converted to Islam from Christianity, and if the judge then called Christianity a “religion of tolerance.” Pfft! Hypocrites!
Over the weekend, Michelle Malkin noted that this story is not getting much media attention, even from our Christian President, and posted the charges Rahman is facing:
“Yes that’s true, a man has converted to Christianity. He’s being tried in one of our courts,” Supreme Court judge Ansarullah Mawlavizada said, adding that his trial began early last week.
He said the man could face the death penalty if he refused to revert to Islam as Sharia law proposes capital punishment for any Muslim who converts to another religion. Afghanistan’s constitution states: “No law can be contrary to the sacred religion of Islam.”
Barbaric. Absolutely barbaric! This is not freedom, this is not liberty, this is not tolerance!
Michelle followed up yesterday, giving ABC due credit for reporting on the story, and also posting the addresses for the Embassy of Afghanistan and the State Department. I would strongly urge that we all follow her suggestion and write, politely but passionately, to express our deep concern and revulsion for this perversion of “justice”:
Write the embassy of Afghanistan:
Ambassador Said T. Jawad
Embassy of Afghanistan
2341 Wyoming Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20008
info@embassyofafghanistan.orgContact the State Department:
U.S. Department of State

Main Switchboard:

Following those addresses, she adds much more information, so you ought to go over and read what she has posted.

It’s not too early to push for Democraps to nominate Jean Fraud sKerry again. Billary has her useful idiots, fellow travelers and evil minions pushing for her nom, but a Billary/sKerry ticket would be sooooo much fun to mock: “Stand By Your Man While Spending Christmas in Cambodia!” “Whitewater Swiftboat Veterans for Truth!” “That’s MY Little Blue Dress!” (OK, that last one’s a Jean Fraud sKerry-only campaign line… )
Extra points (10 points and your firstborn male child will buy you a cuppa Starbucks) for posts that link here and track back with mocking of Jean Fraud sKerry (who “released” his records—the last time—304 days ago… supposedly. Human eyes have yet to view them. Only the LA Slimes and the Boston Glob have copies, apparently, and Mass Media Podpeople don’t have human eyes), but now is the time for all good bloggers to come to the aid of twc and link to this post and track back.
Also note the other fine blogs featuring linkfests at
Oh, and wanna join the fun mocking Jean Fraud? See Cao’s Blog for details.
Just read Jerry Pournelle’s post, When they proclaim me emperor, and see if you wouldn’t vote to have him proclaimed emperor yourself…
Whatever these guys are, stupid ranks pretty high up there in the catalog of their sterling qualities. Which, of course, leads me to believe that the liklihood they are from a cult of illiterate/subliterate morons (AKA, Muslims) is pretty darned close to 100%. (And yeh, I know the article simply calls them “pirates” but given their locale and behavior, it’s not a big leap to conjecture that they are members of a cult of illiterate/subliterate morons, now, is it?)
h.t. Cathouse Chat
Every now and then, I get to meet a very amusing troll. Over the last week, I have had the distinct pleasure of interacting with three: two in comments here and another troll on an email list. (Nope. Not ID-ing the list. A few of y’all will know. Keep it to yourselves. I’m milking this one for laughs offlist, OK?)
They provide me with enormous entertainment with their unintended verbal slapstick routines. Idiots can be sooooo funny! I am so blessed.
One of them (the brighter of the three, who shall go unidentified, cos I want him to keep up the unintentional humor of his argumentum ad ignorantium style) recently signed me up for a whole raft of email lists. As usual, he has no idea how obviously transparent he was in signing me up, or how easy it is for me to filter alla that crap (in fact, Opera had already filtered the “confirmation emails” as SPAM, according to my filter rules and its built-in rules).
*LOL*
Dumbasses can be soooo entertaining! I dunno, I just learned years ago that (after giving them one or three chances to prove that stupidity is not their only option, just the one they prefer) ridiculing and laughing at dumbasses is one of the most pleasant diversions around…
Ahhh! Life is a big suck on a sweet orange!
Rejoicing at Conservative Cat (Sorry about the scare, Bruce. Not my fault. I wasn’t there. I have witnesses.)
This just in (from the email dumbass), in response to me thanking him for being such a hilarious joke, just by existing:
“the funniest thing is, you don’t even know that YOUR the joke.”
*LOL* another great piece of unintended humor. First, the dumbass tries to say, in effect, “Oh, yeh, well you too,” in typical schoolyard manner. And just to illustrate he’s never gotten beyond third grade, he mistakes the second person possessive pronoun “your” for the contraction “you’re” (“you are”).
Ahhh, the endless entertainment afforded by subliterate morons!
Thanks again, dumbass for proving yourself to be the joke you are. Life is sweet!
This morning I started to write a post over at The Real Ugly American just linking to a couple of my favorite bloggers T.F. Boggs who interviews one of his fellow soldiers in Iraq and Treasure of Baghdad who details how his family prepared for the 2003 invasion of Iraq. They are both intense examples of what is really happening in Iraq, I strongly recomend you read them.
But then something strange happened. As I started to type I found myself writing words of encouragement to my friend at Treasure of Baghdad. It was obvious from his post and some of his other recent posts that the war is taking a toll on him and his family. I thought I would share my thoughts with you as well.
To my friend Treasure of Baghdad I can only offer hope for the future and these words of solidarity and encouragement as I know more people he cares about will suffer and die before this war is over.
We are not ignoring you any longer my friend. Continue reading “News From Iraq and My Thoughts”
