I got a call from a client this A.M. They’ve sold their house/acreage and businesses and are moving to Panama ~September 15. Giving up on the U.S. and just need a lil “exit work” on their tech. Doomsday Preppers? No, just worn down by “gummint bureaucrappy” created and encouraged by Left AND Right (neither of which is either “progressive/liberal” or “conservative”) and fearing more “quantitative easing” and other “feddle gummint meddlin'” in the economy will wipe out their retirement years.
They are not alone in their fears.
One of the most obvious symptoms: A president is–or has been–mostly just emblematic of the direction of the country, but King Putz’s unconstitutional diktats (and recent diktats spewing from the agencies he rules) have certainly demonstrated a complete lack of respect for the rule of law and expanded–thanks to a supine Congress–the powers of the presidency far, far beyond any level seen before (save, perhaps, for the Lincoln Years). Reversal of the Obama Blight will take decades, and many, MANY down-ticket elections of honorable people (though where those can be found, I can’t say), to reverse. . . if it is possible at all, especially given the propaganda machines of the Mass MEdia Podpeople Hivemind and Academia Nut Fruitcake Bakeries.
For the 2016 presidential race, I could hope for a clear choice between an openly blatant socialist and a genuine conservative, but I’m unsure where we could get one of the latter on the ticket, nowadays. . . Heck, just FINDING one would be a task for Diogenes.
Better to say, IMO, “The Café au Lait House Is a Terrorist Sleeper Cell,” the way King Putz and his minions seem to do every little thing they can to advance jihad.

A comment at The Belmont Club post, “Ebola in America,” is chilling in the manner it parses federal “incompetence.” Or maybe federal “incompetence” really is, à la John Ringo’s “The Last Centurion”–genuine institutional and political stupidity. You decide.

“1) Responding to epidemics/pandemics is NOT something that has never come up before. The very fact that we are here, with our pre-Ebola life expectancies, is based on the ability of medical science to respond to disease outbreaks.

Especially, since not one of them are responding to the breaking reality with changed behavior.
“The proper domestic response to the initial outbreak would have been stopping all direct flights between the US and the affected countries, blocking entry of anyone who has been in those countries until they can prove that they have been outside those countries for 30 days, the cancellation of student and tourist visas for people from those countries, and [oh, yes] securing our borders so that anyone who comes in is screened for health and legal status. Noting that 15% of the illegal invaders who cross our deliberately-erased-by-the-Federal-government are NOT from Mexico, Central, or South America. And that from January-August this year 71 nationals from the Ebola infected countries were caught at the former border. And that we only catch a small percentage of those crossing.
“I would also note that we have done the travel restrictions relatively recently for H1N1 flu. This is not breaking new ground. It is deliberate avoidance of proper epidemiological procedure.
“Prediction: sometime soon, the Federal government will institute movement and quarantine controls inside the country for US citizens only. The national borders will remain wide open. Foreigners, legal or invaders, will be allowed to move as they please. And all anti-discrimination laws will be firmly enforced.
“I have expressed doubts about a real election in November. This reinforces those doubts.
“And it would not be a bad thing for those that can to prepare for a period of self-imposed isolation, and self-defense, during it.”–Subotai Bahadur
It sure seems to be a good fit for King Putz’s consistent implementation of Cloward-Pivens, doesn’t it?

. . .though his embrace of the “messiah” title a few years ago might make that seem appropriate, and I suppose *sigh* that drawing and quartering are right out the window (that pesky Eighth Amendment), but. . .
IF the outbreaks of enterovirus sweeping the country can be and are traced back to illegals encouraged to enter and allowed to stay by executive action in violation of immigration law, then wouldn’t it be a Good Thing for suit to be brought by the various states (and individuals; class action, perhaps) affected against the administration seeking relief from damages? And would it not be just and proper to press for the voiding of qualified immunity for individuals whose ILLEGAL actions led to the outbreak (if the above linkage could be demonstrated) in order that they might be held personally responsible and punitive damages sought against them as individuals, all the way to the White House?
These suits could then be followed by prison and terms on chain gangs making little rocks from big ones. For life. In lieu of execution for treason.
Flogging, tarring and feathering would just be icing on the cake.

Lots of yapping about King Putz all over the web–of course. (That’s the main point of his shenanigans, you know: he just loves attention. I almost want to tell folks, “Don’t feed the troll,” but since his actions impact so many in so many destructive ways, talk’s inevitable. . . and here, too. *heh*) Much of the jabber is of the “is he or isn’t he” a traitor or a dumbass.
Neither. He’s both.
Yes, he is quite obviously, to any clear-eyed observer, a traitor. That’s so self-evident in his deliberate actions to harm the US and its citizens, his clear violation of his oath of office and his multiple assaults on the Constitution that I’m not even going to elaborate on it at all.
But is he also a dumbass? Is King Putz really, profoundly stupid?
Yes.
Oh, he may have an IQ somewhere in the first standard deviation above the mean. I can buy that, since he’s a fairly accomplished word parrot and did manage, with Affirmative Action, and other undisclosed by easily inferred, help to graduate college and grad school, but being a little over average in IQ and having the tools to be a little more than average “smart” is of no use since what he does is stupid.
Yes, he’s crafty and his stupidity is often well-thought-out, detailed and “intelligently” executed, but all that does is make it more destructively stupid. Heck, the very fact that he is a traitor is stupid. His blind adherence to the communist dogma of his formative years is stupid (because that dogma is itself stupid), and because it’s a blind devotion to stupid ideas, no matter how smart he (and his grup-groupie administration) is in implementing his stupid dogma, it’s too short-sighted (How short? Blindfold short.) to be able to reveal how stupid it is. . . to its devotees, like King Putz.
Since King Putz and his Conspiracy of Dunces can only see what implements their dogma or benefits their short-term goals or that of their cronies, their actions will always be destructive, and that is stupid.
For what does it profit a man if he gain the whole world but lose his own soul, as Someone once said?
These soulless, self-made morons, however, are like a two-year-old (even if a very bright two-year-old) at the controls of a 747 full of (relatively) innocent men, women and children. As long as the autopilot’s still working, he might not crash the plane, but why leave him at the controls just to find out?
