    For some reason single word comments get screened out. That was really all I had to say on this.

      *huh* I was unaware of that myself (but then I cannot recall ever having used less than six words when one would do. *heh* Just prolix, I guess.).

  2. I find it interesting that both terms, kakistocracy and kleptocracy have their origins in our language around 1815 to 1820.

    Strange that the “father of our constitution” James Madison was in office until 1817 and James Monroe followed him, right about the time these words came into use.

    Ah, but back then the fine art of vituperation hadn’t devolved into the petty name calling and vulgarity of today’s discourse – where the use of words for their plain meaning results in censure if you’re a conservative and the use of vulgarities is praised if you’re a liberal.
