Alan Colmes: a Disgusting Sack of…

shit?

[See UPDATE below]

Maybe. Newsbusters offers a link to a page that’s “down” (and the cached page isn’t available from the notoriously left-leaning Google) wherein Alan Colmes is reported to have claimed, “…that Palin didn’t practice proper prenatal care before she had the baby with Down’s Syndrome, blaming the Mother for her disabled child.”

Now, IF this is indeed true (and I’d sooner trust Newsbusters than Google on something like this), then Alan Colmes is either

1. One of the stupidest people on the face of the planet or
2. A lying sack of shit

or… possibly both.

About.com’s page on Down Syndrome (in the pediatrics section) gives a succinct FAQ that is in agreement with other readily-accessible information for those who never learned the basic background on Down Syndrome, including in its comments the common knowlege that,

Down syndrome is not attributable to any behavioral activity of the parents or environmental factors.

Alan Colmes has always struck me (OK, in the three times I have actually heard him open his pie hole) as a particularly stupid person, but this is beyond stupid. I’d like to see the original comment, but it may never become available, now that Colmes’ fluffers have had an opportunity to scrub things, if that is indeed what has happened.

*feh*

Alan Colmes: do NOT feed him to the polar bears. THAT could cause an extinction event, wiping out the benefit to polar bears of Arctic drilling, etc.

*heh*

UPDATE: Whizbang! has the entire post, and the post itself is slightly less bad than was first reported at Newsbusters. His real idiocy was questioning Palin’s judgement for following her doctor’s advice.

The really stupid thing Colmes did was to take the post down and then lie about his reasons (Yes, the evidence–as I read it–says he lied about why he took it down) only reposting a screenshot of it when it turned up on another site.

What. A. Weenie. Sad sack of shit indeed.

A Vote for Palin… and Whatsisname

OK, feeling like a “grumpy old guy” myself last night. I decided, “Hey! Watching TV ‘news’ (a rare event for me) can’t make things any worse, can it?”

Well, surprise, surprise, surprise. Sarah Palin was on MSNBC with some Mass Media Podpeople Chicky, and Palin knocked me for a loop. The Q&A went something like this:

Mass Media Podpeople Chicky: “*Blah, blah blah blah?*”

Palin: “*Rapid-fire, on target, forceful, clear, sensible answer without a buncha meaningless buzz words*”

Lather, rinse, repeat.

No bullshit! I was stunned. A politician talking w/o bullshit? Look for the apocalypse.

The very first substantive political speaking I’ve heard since Fred Thompson left the race.

So, curmudgeon-who-hates-politicians in general or not; sour taste in mouth from Juan Mexicain’s disgusting support for alien invasion of the U.S.–I’ll vote for Palin–oh, and whatsisname–come November. Heck, this is the frirst politician I’ve heard talking sense without a lot of hemming and hawing and stumblebum “Uhs” and “Ums” in years. That alone is worth something. Forget a Palin/Biden “debate”. I wanna see a Palin/Obamassiah debate. If last night’s MSNBC interview is any indication, she’d clean his clock, put him back on the shelf and not even break a sweat.

I’m shocked, shocked I say! that Juan Mexicain could have the balls/intelligence to choose to run as a veep someone who seems to so easily outshine him. Maybe he has some virtues after all.

Maybe.

So, with due credit to Beldar for being the source (for me, at least) for the image,

BTW, Palin does need to stress more the national security effects of energy dependence on foreign oil, jobs creation and economic benefits to the lower 48, though she did allude to those aspects of energy independence in outlining the need for more domestic production during a transition energy economy. Nicely done.

Palin for Veep Choice

I have to admit, as distracted as I’ve been lately (and as distasteful as a Juan Mexicain candidacy is for me), this one came in on me out of the sun.

Looking at Sarah Palin’s record and public statements thus far on the issues, all but two areas seem pretty strong. Environment? She’s been hoodwinked by the Church of Anthropogenic Global Warming to a degree, although, unlike Juan Mexicain, she strongly supports ANWR drilling.

On what may be the critical issue of the next four (to twenty) years, illegal aliens, she’s almost mute. I say “almost” only because I’ve run across references to her having commented, but I cannot find the actual comments.

Still, from what I’ve seen so far, if Palin and Juan Mexicain were to be elected, I’d not be excessively uncomfortable were Juan to have a stroke on or about January 21, 2009 (God forbid).

UPDATE: She was a flute player in high school/college. For those of y’all who’ve directed instrumental groups that included woodwinds, that brings up a whole buncha stereotypes (that are generally true to life; after all, that’s how stereotypes come about: they are decent shorthand for real things).

UPDATE II: I was waiting for this one:

“Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency,” Obama spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement.

Now, that’s one dumbass spkesman. All that does is highlight the fact that if The Obamassiah were elected, we’d have someone with no foreign policy experience as President and a plagiarist who can’t even parrot others’ ideas w/o getting caught “a heartbeat away from the presidency”. This is an improvement? An empty suit with another empty suit waiting in the wings? Nice one, Burton. What a maroon.

*heh*

Zeros With The Rims Kicked Off

Those of y’all who have avoided watching the Circus in Denver in favor of searching for meaningful content w/o bubbleheads (Mass Media Podpeople) to yammer in your ears, telling you what you just heard, you need read no further.

But for those of y’all who’ve been watching the speeches so far performed at the Dhimmicrappic Convention, let me throw down a challenge : Go read a few (sample 1, sample 2, sample 3) and note any content of substance. Any.

Back now? That was easy, wasn’t it? Didn’t find any substance did you? Lots of soap bubbles and pipe dreams covered over by moderately competent public speaking (which passes for “stirring” and “inspiring” with a public brought up on pap), “sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

IOW, more of the same old same old political bullshit.

I can hardly wait for more of the same from the Repugnican’t Convention.

*yawn*

Belly Laugh of the Day

Reading (back) weekly installments of Doug Wilson’s novel-in-progress, Evangellyfish, I ran across this lil gem:

“We really need to do our part to reduce this epidemic of illicit banging in the evangelical world. Before this week I had no idea. Back in Arkansas, we were all good Christians until we got our drivers’ licenses. After that we were good pagans. It is this mixing of categories that I find so troublesome.”

*ROFLKASTM@FO*

Now, that’s some funny stuff.

(The book’s posted in blog format, so just page down to the bottom to begin. Actually, the best format for reading the book would probably be via newsreader. Just hit the RSS feed button in a mature browser–or even in Internet Exploder Infinite Security Holes version (which is any version at all), now–and have all the chapters in your default newsreader.)

Tuesday Titter

I want this t-shirt! (thanks, hugh)

(Yeh, yeh, I know it’s not accurate and perhaps even slanderous to equate Osama bin Laden’s honest, open, above-board declaration of intent to destroy America with The Obamassiah’s disingenuous, sneaky, underhanded campaign to do the same thing via other means. My apologies to Osama bin Laden.)

Fraudian Slip?

No, that’s not a typo, nor is it a misspelling. Think about it.

I’m referring, of course, to The Obamassiah’s “slip” in introducing his chosen running mate, Mr. Plagiarism himself, Joe “Who me steal others’ words and claim them as my own” Biden.

Let’s let the Great Speaker himself tell the tale, shall we?

“Let me introduce to you, the next president — the next vice president of the United States of America: Joe Biden.”

Folks, The Obamassiah was not making a freudian slip. He was going back to his trademark, offering hope and change.

*heh*

(Strange thing that–when a change from “Joe Plagiarism Biden, VP” to “Joe Plagiarism Biden, President” is an offering of hope… )

Loose lips or sly manipulation?

Quote of Note

During a break today, I read a few chapters of “The Last Centurion” by John Ringo. This comment mugged me in one of the dark alleys of chapter three:

“I care for all living beings except slow drivers in the left-hand lane, terrorists and pedophiles.”

Amen, brother. Preach on.

A Moving Experience ;-)

Small moving day. Lovely Daughter is bringing some small furniture items; mucho boxes and other furniture going out to storage (a store room and a storage shed); painting and cleaning and groaning, oh my! So, hit me with your best shoits while I’m sweating away today (in the mid-70s, high humidity weather. Nice temps, lousy humidity).

Who Gets to Decide?

By Nancy Matthis at ADMC

The election of 2008 promises to be an all-out battle throughout the country for the soul of America. Will we continue to be a nation of individuals who pride themselves on personal responsibility? Or will we keep sliding deeper into increasing government entitlement programs (and meddling) on the path to socialism?

The answer will largely be determined by the outcomes of the 435 hard-fought Congressional races throughout the United States. And in many of those races, the margin of victory or loss on average may be less than three percent. Which is to say that illegal aliens may decide the future of our democracy.

Our voting processes are deeply flawed. For quite some time the problem of voter fraud has been discussed, but tolerated. The website Illegal Aliens US comments:

Those ‘undocumented’ are actually ‘highly documented’ with fraudulent documents our government readily accepts.

Because of virtually no vote fraud enforcement, motor voter registration, driver’s licenses for illegal aliens, amnesties and other factors, American’s most precious liberty, voting, is being rapidly undermined by illegal aliens.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) reports:

In 1996, Congress enacted the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act, making it a federal crime for non-citizens to vote in any federal election (or state election, unless authorized by state law). As a penalty, ineligible non-citizens who knowingly vote may be deported. Additionally, a non-citizen who falsely claims to be a United States citizen is in violation of this law.

However, there are many documented reports of non-citizen voting, and there is no evidence of prosecution of the aliens for their action. With nearly 19 million foreign-born residents who are not U.S. citizens in the country in the 2000 Census and an estimated 9-11 million illegal residents (many of them not also counted in the Census), the potential is enormous for non-citizens to affect the outcome of elections.

Accuracy in Media adds:

A recent study released by the conservative think-tank the Heritage Foundation provides proof that illegal aliens and immigrants with green cards are committing rampant voter fraud in the United States.

Just last week, Libertarian Republican posted about a specific case in San Antonio:

300 busted in San Antonio — Illegal Immigrants have been voting in US Elections for decades. California most especially has been plagued by hundreds of thousands of illegals voting in elections. Republicans have alledged for years that Democrats have undertaken massive voter registration drives of Illegals in heavily Mexican neighborhoods around Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego County and other Border regions. Even Mid-Western States such as Ohio and Missouri have also seen problems with Illegal Immigrant voting. Now, Texas has been hit….

Specific Components of the Problem
