Rethinking the Privileges of Our Ruling Aristocracy

In light of the massive disruption caused by Emperor 00 every time His Majesty *gag* invades his subjects’ cities, perhaps it’s time to reconsider the privileges we allow our ruling aristocracy, eh? As Jerry Pournelle puts it,

One would think that if the President is so afraid of the people that he will not allow ordinary citizens to drive on the streets while he is traveling from his hotel to a commandeered golf course helipad, perhaps he ought to stay in the White House guarded by mercenaries?

…Is it time to rethink just what privileges our ruling aristocracy automatically have?

And it’s not, of course, just the ruling aristocracy but their thugs who need to have their wings clipped as well. Consider the recent Blagojevitch “conviction” for “lying to federal agents”–the same thing the feds got Martha Stewart for when they had no case against her for so-called “insider trading”.

“Anyone who cooperates with federal officials in any way including exchange of pleasantries is betting five years that they are not out to get him. The proper way to treat these agents is with silence. Saying anything to them including the time of day or comments on the weather is a needless danger.”

Note that I’m not defending Blagojevitch. He’s a politician *spit* so of course he’s guilty of far, far worse than lying to federal thugs. It’s just that federal thugs are a far, far worse scourge upon society than petty scum like Blagojevitch.

The best that Barack Hussein Obama-Soetoro will be able to claim as his real epitaph might generously be

Sadly, as it appears now, he will likely not qualify for such high praise.

The Fate of Arrogance

I think of this passage from Ezekiel 28 every now and then as I contemplate the end of the hubris, the overweening pride, the arrogance of The Obamassiah:

2Ezekiel, son of man, tell the king of Tyre that I am saying: You are so arrogant that you think you’re a god and that the city of Tyre is your throne. You may claim to be a god, though you’re nothing but a mere human. 3You think you’re wiser than Daniel and know everything. 4Your wisdom has certainly made you rich, because you have storehouses filled with gold and silver. 5You’re a clever businessman and are extremely wealthy, but your wealth has led to arrogance!

6You compared yourself to a god, so now I, the LORD God, 7will make you the victim of cruel enemies. They will destroy all the possessions you’ve worked so hard to get. 8Your enemies will brutally kill you, and the sea will be your only grave.

9When you face your enemies, will you still claim to be a god? They will attack, and you will suffer like any other human.

I think on it, know I can have little (or no) effect upon The Ø’s fate and feel… not satisfaction (for who could wish such a fate on even such a sad sack of sh#t?) but resignation, I suppose. Better an extended counseling session with Dr. Tarr and Mr. Fether resulting in a “Damascus Road experience” than the ultimate fate eternity has for such a one as The Ø.

OK, technically The Ø did not himself compare himself to God, but his coy silence in the face of those who have done so combined with his plain arrogance is effectively the same thing.

Stopped Clocks, Blind Pigs and All That

Now, we can add radical leftists to the list of improbable stumblers-upon-truth:

The level of anger and fear is like nothing I can compare in my lifetime. Ridiculing the tea party shenanigans is a serious error. For over 30 years, real incomes have stagnated or declined…The bankers, who are primarily responsible for the crisis, are now reveling in record bonuses while official unemployment is around 10 percent and unemployment in the manufacturing sector is at Depression-era levels. The financial industry preferred Obama to McCain. They expected to be rewarded and they were. Then Obama began to criticize greedy bankers and proposed measures to regulate them. And the punishment for this was very swift: they were going to shift their money to the Republicans. So Obama said bankers are ‘fine guys’ and assured the business world: ‘I, like most of the American people, don’t begrudge people success or wealth. That is part of the free-market system.’ People see that and are not happy about it. People want some answers. They are hearing answers from only one place: Fox, talk radio, and Sarah Palin.

And what radical right-wing “tea bagger” terrorist said that? Noam Chomsky

I understand that Satan’s breaking out his long underwear.

While he was at it, Chomsky said a few other surprising–for a radical leftwing “intellectual” (yes, scare quotes around intellectual in reference to Chomsky’s retarded, reactionary excuses for advancing his socialist agenda. His legitimate contributions to linguistics are another very different story). Notably, taking note of all the swooning over The Ø!’s rhetoric,

“I’m just old enough to have heard a number of Hitler’s speeches on the radio, and I have a memory of the texture and the tone of the cheering mobs, and I have the dread sense of the dark clouds of fascism gathering…”

Yep, just another radical right-wing “tea bagger” racist spewing hate at a café au lait cyanide-laced Oreo in the White House. Noam Chomsky, of all people.

What The Ø!’s Policies Seem Aimed to Accomplish

This.

[T]he crucial issue in Kyrgyzstan was that the prices were driven up by government fiat, albeit following a decision to remove subsidies which had enabled energy to be sold at less than the cost of production. It can be assumed, from this, that where government action is directly responsible for price hikes, governments will take the flak.
