I got your guest blogger right here…

Reports out of America’s Third World County this week suggest that favorite blogger and sitemaster David may have lost his mind (as evidenced by the fact that he’s asked a certain hairy quadrupedal blogger to assist with the total destruction maintenance of his site while he’s busy this week). We hope he recovers his senses (and finishes that project he’s working on) soon.

In the interim (and because he told me to link myself at least once) we bring you the latest on everyone’s favorite alpine sport: Naked Luge.

And yes, that’s indicative of both the things I normally post over at my side of the mountain and the manner in which I’m likely to run amok until David comes back to his senses – and his blog – and boots my shaggy rear back home.

Fair Tax/Wednesday OTA

Yes, this is an Open Trackback post. Link to this post and track back. More below the post by MsUnderestimated, which, if you love your children, you should read and take to heart…

Folks, I’m telling you… after I was lucky enough to find out about this article in the Gwinnett (Georgia) Business Journal this week, I was asking myself that very question. Why in the heck doesn’t Congressman John Linder run for President? I listened to the 45-minute interview for the article, and read along with the transcript. You know what amazes me? This is a true common-sense man. It’s no wonder he’s been a shepherd for relieving the United States of the 16th Amendment for the past 10 years. You might not recognize his name, but you will definitely recognize the name of the book he co-wrote, and the legislation he wrote – “The Fair Tax.”

John Linden

Not in history that I can I recall has there ever been a book to open at #1 on the New York Times best-seller list and stay there for two weeks in a row, which was about the United States Tax Code. Boring, eh? Well, aparently you haven’t read “The Fair Tax.” John’s gotta give his hat off to Neal Boortz, Libertarian talk-show host here in Atlanta, who wrote most of the book. Neal’s depth of knowledge of the tax code and its history, the abuses and wastes of the system as it stands, and his wry sense of humor make it not only a very easy read, but a pleasurable one, as well.

As many of my readers know, I attended the first ever Fair Tax Rally , and it was held here in Gwinnett Co., Georgia. I already wrote my review, and I just wish you all could have been there with me to witness the electricity of the event. I wrote in that article that “It’s Possible,” and it is. All you have to do is believe – and be brave enough to want to help affect change.

If the Fair Tax passes, it will be the single largest transfer of power from the Federal Government back to the people in the history of this country. I feel like I am part of that 1% that affects change, as John Stossel pointed out at the rally. I’m one of those “big potatoes” that Herman Cain spoke of. And you can be, too. Only if you believe.

John Linder has also taken a strong stance on illegal immigration, and recently proposed that we adopt the exact same immigration laws as Mexico, verbatim, and he truly believes that what is good for the “Fox,” is good for the “Eagle.” I do not disagree with him one iota, and I wrote about it in another post.

Everything that I’ve heard and read before today made me swell with hope and pride – but after I listened to this latest interview, I’m even more filled with determination and FIRE, and the motivation to do whatever it takes to help this man succeed in whatever endeavors he chooses. I also plan to encourage him to run for President, although I’m not sure of his aspirations. He’s quite successful as a Republican Georgia Congressman. I am going to try to schedule him as a guest on my show on Wide Awakes Radio, so keep your fingers crossed.

John is right on the money about curtailing government spending, fighting terrorism, true tax reform, securing the borders with no amnesty, and a whole host of other issues. The following is an excerpt from from the full transcript of his interview with Christopher Lancette of the Gwinnett Business Journal:

Wide Awakes Radio Back Up and Running

Woot! Congrats to Kender and the gang for getting the new intraweb network behemoth Wide Awakes Radio back on line. If you didn’t figure it out by now my appearance with George from GM’s Corner was canceled due to technical difficulties. GM’s show will debut 7 pm PST this Thursday night. I plan to be there and hope you will too.

The Latest Death Cult Video

The Jawa Report has still images from the video and describes the video here. The death cultist Islamofascists claim the torture and murders were in revenge for the rape and murder of a 15 year old Iraqi girl. Anyone but a fool (which includes the entire MSM) knows they simply enjoy it.

This is just the latest example of the pure evil we are fighting against. But I knew that on 9/11, I knew it when I watched the Nick Berg video, and I never forget it. Unfortunately a significant portion of the American population didn’t realize it then or now and new attrocity, no new video, or news story seems to phase them.

As I have said before the only thing that will change their minds is if they experience it first hand with the loss of a loved one to these murderers. For some even that is not enough as is evidenced by the insanity of Nick Bergs father.

Captain Ed disagrees and thinks we need to see the video to steel our resolve.

Through all this the MSM has gone to extreme lengths to appear to be objective and avoid printing any stories that may be seen as American propoganda. Accounts of American heroism in this war for example, or detailed accounts of the Islamofascists crimes. Instead outlets like the Washington Post have written 149 articles on Haditha, and 7 on the torture and Murder of Privates Menchaca and Tucker. Through their efforts the MSM has become the propoganda arm of the Islamofascists.

Now this news story in the NYT infuriates me!

It also deepens the mystery surrounding the rape and killing of the Iraqi girl and the slayings of her parents and younger sister.

What?!!! No it doesn’t. It’s a propoganda film you idiot. The story’s author Ed Wong does go on to say:

It is questionable whether the soldiers were actually killed out of revenge.

Really? you think Ed? How much does the NYT have to pay you for your insightful analysis?

Sink Aztlantis! (Guard the Borders)

(OK, so I gave Heidi’s piece a non-Heidian title. Read her screed. It’s a doozy. Then call the White House (202-456-1111), call your congresscritter, and especially, if you live in Texas, call Senator Brownback’s office and pitch a—relatively polite, but firm—hissy fit. Just do it.)

Aztlanian Flag

By Heidi at Euphoric Reality

This past weekend, the White House sent the Presidential advisor and Chief of Staff, Karl Rove, to participate in the National Council of The Race (La Raza) – the largest Hispanic entitlement advocacy group in the nation. In order to fully understand the influence of La Raza, it’s important first to understand their agenda, and this Human Events exclusive by Rep. Charlie Norwood (R, GA) is as good a place to start as any:

Behind the respectable front of the National Council of La Raza lies the real agenda of the La Raza movement, the agenda that led to those thousands of illegal immigrants in the streets of American cities, waving Mexican flags, brazenly defying our laws, and demanding concessions.

Key among the secondary organizations is the radical racist group Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MEChA), one of the most anti-American groups in the country, which has permeated U.S. campuses since the 1960s, and continues its push to carve a racist nation out of the American West.

Rep. Norwood goes into further detail about La Raza, MEChA, and the Spiritual Plan for Aztlan, which we’ve covered in the Blogburst previously, but the most chilling section is excerpted below:

“Por La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada.”

That closing two-sentence motto is chilling to everyone who values equal rights for all. It says: “For The Race everything. Outside The Race, nothing.”

If these morally sickening MEChA quotes were coming from some fringe website, Americans could at least console themselves that it was just a small group of nuts behind it. Nearly every racial and ethnic group has some shady characters and positions in its past and some unbalanced individuals today claiming racial superiority and demanding separatism. But this is coming straight from the official MEChA sites at Georgetown University, the University of Texas, UCLA, University of Michigan, University of Colorado, University of Oregon, and many other colleges and universities around the country.

MEChA was in fact reported to be one of the main organizers of those street demonstrations we witnessed over the past [months]. That helps explain why those hordes of illegal immigrants weren’t asking for amnesty — they were demanding an end to U.S. law, period. Unlike past waves of immigrants who sought to become responsible members of American society, these protesters reject American society altogether, because they have been taught that America rightfully belongs to them.

MEChA and the La Raza movement teach that Colorado, California, Arizona, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Oregon and parts of Washington State make up an area known as “Aztlan” — a fictional ancestral homeland of the Aztecs before Europeans arrived in North America. As such, it belongs to the followers of MEChA. These are all areas America should surrender to “La Raza” once enough immigrants, legal or illegal, enter to claim a majority, as in Los Angeles. The current borders of the United States will simply be extinguished.

This plan is what is referred to as the “Reconquista” or re-conquest, of the Western U.S.

But it won’t end with territorial occupation and secession. The final plan for the La Raza movement includes the ethnic cleansing of Americans of European, African, and Asian descent out of “Aztlan.”

As Miguel Perez of Cal State-Northridge’s MEChA chapter has been quoted as saying: “The ultimate ideology is the liberation of Aztlan. Communism would be closest [to it]. Once Aztlan is established, ethnic cleansing would commence: Non-Chicanos would have to be expelled — opposition groups would be quashed because you have to keep power.

Ethnic cleansing, espoused by one of the largest and most influential student groups supported by La Raza – the same La Raza that Bill Clinton and Karl Rove are dallying with. Lest you still think this is a “fringe” group, despite all the evidence to the contrary, you should know that they are implementing their plans, in the face of mainstream America’s somnolent tolerance. For instance, Art Olivier is a Libertarian running for Governor in California, and recently reported the following:

“My campaign headquarters received a package in the mail today from an unknown sender, where the return address should be, was a sticker of the Mexican flag. Inside was a Mexican flag and three pages of propaganda. The first page said the whites will soon go back to Europe, the blacks must go back to Africa and scribbled on the bottom was ‘and f*** Asians too. We will take our land back through RECONQUISTA!’

The next two pages are El Plan de Aztlan. It starts off ‘be warned Gringos’ and goes into how the La Raza de Bronze will drive out the exploiters and declares independence of their mestizo nation. Under their economy goals is ‘Land and realty ownership will be acquired by the community for the people’s welfare.’

This movement is without a doubt racist and communist. Is this the same La Raza that Bill Clinton & Karl Rove spoke at?”

-Art Olivier.

The Alamo Alliance was able to reproduce the exact documents for public viewing.

El_Plan_Cover.jpg Cover Page: Whites and blacks are invaders. Whites must return to Europe, and blacks to Africa. F*** the Asians. Take back the land through Reconquista!

El_Plan_1.jpgPage 1 of the Plan for Aztlan: Mission, organizational goals, declaration of independence for the mestizo nation, nationalism.

El_Plan_2.jpgPage 2 of the Plan for Aztlan: Communization of public assets. Six point call to action. Call to arms in self-defense against the “exploiter” and to drive out the non-Chicanos.

And those rallies that were so popular this spring? Well, you probably didn’t see or hear about this. View a racist card that was popularly circulated among the participants at all the Latino rallies and protest:

On September 16th, the day of Mexican independence, La Raza de Bronze, and all its affiliates, plans to stage yet more Chicano walk-outs of all schools and universities, and hope to sustain it to force a complete revision of the educational system. Considering that their much-touted “Day Without Latinos” was a total bust, it’s unlikely that they can sustain such an activity for any length of time – though we can hope.

Wake up, Americans. This problem is not losing momentum, nor going away. In fact, it is rapidly gaining in credence and legitimacy, thanks to the White House’s apparent endorsement of their activities.

Does this pesky Reconquista problem only affect the Southwestern United States? No, of course not. Consider that the two largest engines driving the entire American economy are California and Texas. Consider further that there is an open empathy between Reconquistas and Islamists. Visit the Voice of Aztlan to see for yourself how they rejoice in American deaths at the hands of terrorists worldwide, since it furthers their own cause of re-conquest. You can bet that La Raza’s seditious activities will impact your wallet at the very least, and your entire way of life. Stay awake.

I’ll be back later today with more. Hit me with your best shot.

Update: Barb, at Tidbits and Treasures commented that the Whizbang! trackback facility is burping when she tries to track back here. I’ve noticed it does that sometimes, which is why when I don’t use the built in WordPress trackback feature, I use haloscan. Meanwhile, her post, “Houston police and the federal Transportation Security Administration at odds” deals with a subject that really should remain on top. The Thousands Standing Around really are doing little of any real worth. IMO, the TSa is just a “full employment for idiots, goons and bullies” program whose real mission is derived from the principle “When a stupid man does something he knows is wrong, he always claims it is his duty.”

Update to the update: *sigh* I’d just written the above update and was about to save it when… power outage and the UPS on this machine squealed and suddenly died. All better (and with a new UPS) now. (Yeh, I can still replace the battery in the old one, but not ——> NOW. 🙂

Head ’em up!

Move ’em out! A mini-roundup of some stuff I found interesting this week.

Size isn’t everything, ya know. (But there is a certain quality to quantity… )

Bye-bye batteries; hellooooo electric cars? Maybe in another 5-10 years, if these new carbon nanotube capacitors work out.

Stunning. Almost makes me wanna visit the Socialist State of Britannia.

Sidetrip: I love this lil appliance, already.

Kill Microsoft’s Spyware (WGA). Just kill it. (&*$@^ Micro$oft… )

God, Life and Liberty. I just found this in Donald Sensing’s archives while searching for the Thomas Jefferson comments and Randall Thompson piece composed for them earlier this week. Great commentary.

BTW, found this lil piece at Opinion Journal in the same search. A trenchant observation concerning “the left’s” hypocrisy on freedom of speech. (But of courwse, “the left” now pretty much includes most congresscritters on “the right” seeking to protect their positions nowadays, as well… *sigh*)

James P. Hogan’s Kicking the Sacred Cow. A hard-nosed look at what’s behind the curtain in Oz the world of “science” today. (The linked “book” is to the first coupla chapterts of the book, available at Baen Books online as either an eBook or paperback.)

Quote for the week, from Steve White:

“…a teacher wants—no, needs—for everyone to know everything he knows, while an educational bureaucrat sees the general dissemination of knowledge as a threat to his status. Unfortunately, there are a lot more educational bureaucrats than there are teachers. (As usual, Shaw got it wrong. Those who can, do; those who can’t become educational bureaucrats.)”1

Yeh, well, White got that right…

The usual good stuff at Diane’s place, Sam’s, Rich’s, TMH’s, Rick’s, Angel’s, Lyn’s, Alexandra’s and on and on. More than I have time to go into right now. I did say this was a short roundup, didn’t I? Hit the links. Beats golf.

Bitten by the bug Puckish Chicken w/Rice

The HSN bug, I guess…

Here’s what happened. Our crockpot died. *sigh* Well, I accidentally killed it by breaking the crockery liner. Then, flipped by a Wolfgang Puck segment on HSN while on my way to the Thistory Channel one Saturday. Nothing on HC, so flipped back to see what Puckish cookery was going on.

His rice cooker. Thought, “Oh, why not. I’ll give the thing a try.”

Love the thing. Here’s what I did first thing outa the chute:

Chicken n Rice–just made from stuff I happened to have on hand.

Six of the lil measuring cupsful of white rice (using the measuring scoop that came with the thing, which equals about 4.5 measuring cups of rice at 3/4 cup per scoop), as per the instructions for basic rice.
One 14.5 oz. can of diced tomatoes and green chiles
1/4 cup enchilada sauce (I usally make m6y own, but I had just a scant cuppa sauce left over, so I used that)
water to the 6-cup mark on the cooker liner
1 clove of garlic, minced (actually, I used a garlic press cos I’m lazy)
1 Tbs freshly-ground cumin (with about a quarter teaspoon of chipotle chiles, freshly ground added–I’d have used more, but that’s all I had on hand)
3-large chicken breasts, salted, peppered and fried over medium heat in EVOO, then cubed.

Hit cook and came back 30 mins later to see the device on “warm”. The cooker worked perfectly. Family gave it—and the meal—a thumbs up.

Accompany this with refried beans, chips, salad. If you would have this be the main protein dish (instead of going for complementary proteins), just bump up the chicken content.

BTW, this’ll feed an army… well, a very small one. 🙂

Oh, “salting” the chicken… wash the chicken breasts. Cover them with coarse Kosher salt on both sides and set ’em in the fridge for a half hour. Wash ’em again. (Yeh, yeh, then pepper and from to “just done” before cubing.)

While this is designed for the specific cooker I bought, and worked just dandy, peachy keen in it, if you make this w/o such a cooker, try doing it this way:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees fahrenheit
Pour the rice in a baking dish
cover with liquid equal in amount to 2X the rice by volume. (It’ll take a pretty good-sized backing dish if you use the amount of rice I did!) Your liquid will of course be the can of diced tomatoes/chiles, enchilada sauce and water mixture (with the spices stirred in)
Add the cubed, pre-cooked chicken
cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 35-40 minutes.
