Stop the ACLU…

… v. the ACLU et al

From John Stephenson at Stop the ACLU:

Straight from Malkin

Debbie Schlussel, blogger/investigative writer/lawyer, is extending an invitation to citizens interested in intervening in the ACLU’s NSA lawsuit. She practices in Eastern Michigan, where the suit was filed.

Also be sure to read Schlussel’s exposé of some of the shady plaintiffs in the ACLU’s suit.Stop The ACLU will be the first intervening party. Per email of Debbie:

Jay:
For sure. I will make you and/or Stop the ACLU the first intervening party (It will be Stop the ACLU et
al vs. . . . .). But I gotta work on this over the weekend. I’ll get back to you on this.

“Enstupiated” Americans

h.t. to Hugh, again (Man! Get yourself a blog! Tho, admittedly, I appreciate your tips, especially recently wile I’ve been a bit swamped 🙂

Fred Reed again, this time in almost perfect complement to John Stossel’s “Stupid” schools program on 20/20 last Friday:

“I’m going to start a rickshaw factory. It’s so our kids will have a way to make a living, now that America is pulling out of the First World. Maybe I’ll put an iPod socket on the poles or a little tiny television, made in Japan. That way our puzzled offspring won’t inadvertently start thinking. Tradition provides an anchor in the circumambient chaos.

See, what’s going to happen is, all the design work and programming are going to Mumbai, except the part that already has. Manufacturing is pretty much in China already, Mexicans do all the scutwork, and blacks work for the government or not at all, or both at once. That leaves whites as midlevel bureaucrats supervising each other. Thing is, whites are getting so they can’t read either, so they’ll need rickshaws to pull, in case the Chinese engineers want to go somewhere.

It’s over, I tell you. The United Steak has turned into a mess of pale-faced bushmen mumbling in pidgin English, the young anyway, with Orientals as missionaries trying to civilize us. Yes, friends and neighbors! Ain’t it exciting? All the professors in America of anything practical are already Chinese or Indian. Or getting that way fast.”

Read the rest. (Surely no regular reader of this blog is a part of the nearly 40% 60% of adult Americans who are subliterate… )

Taiwanese Justice

h.t. Hugh, via email:

“I have 3 demands or I’ll kill the boy!”

Click through the entire series of photos.

Justice, indeed. *sigh* Here, I’m sure the American Criminal Lawyers Union would be all a-twitter, along with a sea of Mass Media Podpeople, Democrappic congresscritters (and no doubt their lapdog Republican’t “me-too-ers”), a whole array of academia nuts, and all the other crybaby loony left moonbats.

Oh, Waaah.

Up the revolution! (Open Post)

Nah, it’s not quite time for a revolution-apart from a “revolution” at the ballot box. Visiting with an email bud/frequent commenter recently, he said something about voting for NOTA* in an upcoming election.

Now, wouldn’t that be a thought… what if… OK, what if somehow, someway voters could have NOTA printed underneath every set of candidates? Would NOTA be elected to a majority in Congress? How about State legislatures and governorships?

Ahhh, quit dreaming.

*sigh*

I’ve been reading The Founders Constitution, recently. A good intro to the book might be the Continental Congress, Declaration and Resolves of October, 1774-nearly two years before the Declaration of Independence.

Washington D.C. is looking and acting a lot more like King George, the more the Democrapic Socialists and their Republican’t lap dogs heap their endless intrusive laws on their subjects’ heads…

But don’t listen to me. I’m being ruined by reading the Founders’ thoughts and comparing them to what our feddle gummint has become.

This is an OTA (Open Trackback Alliance) post. CLICK the link on the graphic to find out what that means if you don’t already know. Link to this post and track back. I’ll hit up a few myself later in the day.

Power Oatmeal!

Power Oatmeal? Yeh. Want that warm, smoothe oatmeal breakfast, but also working out and need the extra protein you get from a ham n eggs type of breakfast? Here’s one solution.

Oatmeal (take your pick):

Oatmeal Porridge

  • 1/4C cut oats
  • 1 Qt water
  • pinch salt
  • Bring water to a rolling boil
  • sprinkle the oats onto the “roll”
  • stir well
  • keep at a boil (stirring every now and then) until it begins to thicken, then reduce to a simmer and simmer for 20-30 minutes or so (depends on how smoothe or “chewy” you like your porridge)

Or

Your fav “rolled” oats–the flat stuff you associate with Quaker Oats. Regular or instant, fixed as you usually do or the package directs.

The “power” part?

First: flavor. I like to add freshly-grated cinnamon and nutmeg, margarine (or butter) and some apple jelly.

Then, for added protein, whip up 8 oz of a high-quality, high-protein shake. I use the a super high-quality (ordered over the internet) vanilla-flavored protein shake for adding to oatmeal. Use the protein shake in place of milk. (Drink any shake mix left after pouring an amount you prefer over the oatmeal. 🙂

When I have ’em, I’ll add raisins to the oatmeal porridge as it’s cooking.

Warm, tasty, filling and an extra protein boost.

Update: Oh, where’s the coffee? Already downed by this time and starting on a second third fourth cup. What?!? Breakfast w/o Joe? Say it ain’t so!

UPDATE: In comments The MaryHunter suggests cardamom and brown sugar—each separately or together worthy additions to oatmeal.

How can you tell if yogurt is spoiled?/O.P.

Seriously. I found an old container of yogurt that had been shoved to the back of the fridge today. “Sell by” date was September 4, 05. Ate it. Couldn’t taste anything different about it.

That’s the problem with yogurt. It starts out as already spoiled milk, so it’s apparently the same old or new…

At least it’s easier to tell when an anti-war peacenik democrap “war hero” is spoiled. Yeh, right from the start. Apparently John Murtha may have pulled the same phony Purple Heart dodges that Jean Fraud sKerry did.

They oughta take it on a tour. “Looky here! I’m a war hero (as ref my neatly self-censored “records”) and I’m against the war in Iraq!” from John “I’ll release my records Real Soon Now” Kerry and “Looky here! I’m a war hero (as ref my Purple Hearts not even my congressman would try to help me get) and I’m against the war in Iraq!”

Since I’m still waiting to see the records Jean Fraud sKerry said he’d release nearly a year ago (for the very nth time), I’ll not hold my breath waiting on Murtha to back up his claims that appear to be puffed up.

Still Jean Fraud sKerry remains the poster boy for political bullshit for the 21st century (where’s the beef, John Boy?).

Scotland Yard Loses Discrimination Case

The “PC” world turned upside down:

A BLACK police bodyguard who protected the Duchess of Cornwall has won $70,000 compensation after suing Scotland Yard for “over-promoting” him because of political correctness._1_

Say again?!? He sued because he’d been “over-promoted” due to political correctness?

Please, oh please: someone talk this guy into emmigrating to the U.S.

No time to babysit this blog today. I’ll just leave you with a thought for the Guard the Borders BB: what is a country without a border?

Conquered.

Tin Foil Hat Time?

Or not?

Thanks to The English Guy’s Networks and Security blog, I did catch up-a couple of days late-on the Security Now! show where Steve Gibson revealed his research that leads him to believe that the WMF vulnerability was actually intentionally put in Windows from Win 2000 on by Microsoft or “someone at Microsoft” as a backdoor into Windows. Read the transcript or listen to the podcast via this link. Also available at the link is Steve’s first version of a WMF vulnerability tester based on his research to date.

Do note: Gibson is sure at this point that the “vulnerability” (he used the scare quotes himself to describe it) was put into Windows deliberately, but he is clear in stating he has much more work to do to define just when, and that he may well discover information that contradicts his current view.

Gee. I wish more “scientists” (like those getting so much press on “climate change” scare stories) would take such an approach.

Last night’s 20/20

Alan Woody, Woody’s News and Views, lists some of the high points of last night’s 20/20, featuring John Stossel. What I thought particularly interesting about the program was the lacunae. Sure, in a one hour program, it would be impossible to list everything that’s wrong with public education in the U.S. But surely his primary theme-choice, competition can do more for improving education than anything else-could have surrendered five minutes to addressing at least a couple of other major problems: fumble-headed dumbass educrats and stupid, lazy parents.

OK, so he did show a couple of the worst examples of educratic administrators/union goons in the SC ed sec and the NY teachers’ union boss. But that’s not nearly enough to demonstrate the scope of the stupidity problem in schools of education, remote diumbasses in D.C. and state capitols issuing stupid decrees, etc. And his continual painting of parents as capable of making better choices for their children’s education fails at the other end, because more and more parents are themselves products of our “prisons for kids” stupid factories and are simply too dimwitted (and often too self-involved, selfish sloths) to be able to make wise decisions about their children’s education.

Still, Woody’s link to a the Stossel article built off last night’s 20/20 might serve you well, if the subject of America going down the drain because we’re manufacturing another generation of stupes concerns you.

Minor update from a contraria n point of view. This from Fred Reed:

“Some might argue that the Cherokee in his natural habitat could not read and could not manage the rudiments of arithmetic. In this he closely resembled a high-school graduate. It is true that to some extent the gurgling adolescent of today can use a calculator. The Cherokee had nothing to calculate, a far better thing. Instead of spending twelve years unhappily learning nothing in a regimented ignorance factory, he learned nothing while running through the woods and climbing trees. The choice is, as we say, a no-brainer.”

Of course, as we know, neither the “gurgling adolescent” witlessly punching calculator buttons nor the putative Cherokee running freely through the woods learn nothing. But the relative value of learning the fundamental nihilism of our modern culture as opposed to, well, actually bringing home game to eat is, “as we say, a no-brainer.”
