Once again, twc central is reduced to a backup 28.8 dialup connection, as noted yesterday. So, Thirteen Things About Dialup, the most notable being,
1. It’s sluggish.
2. Sloth-like.
3. Laggardly.
4. Poky.
5. Dilatory
6. Stalling.
7. Retarded.
8. Lethargic.
9. Listless.
10. Torpid.
11. Stagnant.
12. Unresponsive.
13. Oh, and did I say, “slow”?
And those are its good characteristics.
*heh*
Oh. Well.
Noted @the T-13 Hub.
I could never go back to dial up. Not patient enough for it.
Dial-up is slow and more expensive than wireless/broadband here… My TT is up on my meme blog 🙂
Heh…
I remember when I had to use a 300bps Modem to dial up to work, and all I had was a 32 by 16 screen to navigate the system with.
I am SO glad I have broadband now.
My TT #8 is up… Thirteen Things about The United States Flag, Flag Day (June 14), and Flag Week.

Oooh, I know. I feel better now that I know someone else is on dial up. I do have a PC wireless card but, of course, my son gets to use that. Have a great weekend.
Michelle (note: cos of painfully slow speed of backup connection, one answer for all, really), were I to have a choice in the matter, I’d never “go back to dialup” either, but since a recent storm took out cable for the area and though the guys are working as fast as they can, we’re still without our cable connection. Our only other option is this backup dialup connection we have from having been (in my case–“being” for my Wonder Woman) teachers here in America’s Third World County. The modem bank available hasn’t been upgraded since the Stone Age, and although the local schools don’t use it any more (WAN/T-1 connections from classrooms, etc., now), it’s still in high demand as backup during times like these.
That means, not only are connections glacially slow, but they are also often intermittant.
Meaning: I will get around to visit other TTs as soon as I can… (Translation: sometime before the next ice age, if load times for managing twc are any indication. *heh*)
And it still exists?! I can’t handle dialup at ALL.
