OK, so how many Chihuahuas* would it take to make a full load in your washing machine?
Just wanna know.
*N.B. the AKC specifies that a Chihuahua weigh no more than 6 pounds or so. Some Chihuahuas weigh much less. So we’ll just specify a nice round 4.5 pounds per dog, OK?
I don’t really know the weight capacity of the machine I’m currently using. Just picked it up used ’bout 3 weeks ago. While mama’s was broke & before I found this one, I made 2-3 trips to the local laundry-mat.
Was I in for a surprise! $3 for a load of laundry, +$1 to dry. Been so long since I’d been to one of those things, I think I had only paid 50 or 75 cents for a wash .
Having said that, they do have three sizes of machines. One goes up to 40#(?). I have one large (2 bushel) heavy duty laundry basket. That 40# machine would probably hold at least 2 bushels of chi-hua-huas, & perhaps a few more.
BTW: When the “new” front load washing machine was mandated for new sales for “in home” use (don’t know current status of the mandate), there was a big whoop-ty-do about needing a special front load only detergent.
All the machines in the laundry-mat that I used are all front load, but there’s no mention of any special detergent requirement. It appears people use whatever they’ve been using. I did & had no bad results.
One other thought. Why fill the washing machine with chi-hua-huas? Dont you have a burlap bag (toe sack) and a creek nearby?
I don’t know the math on my washer’s capacity, but size-wise I’d say my double-capacity washer could handle about 50 of em.
