Nope. A vulgarity perhaps, but perfectly acceptable in the right circumstances.
I will still not be using it very much. But I won’t be offended by it like the woke crowd that feigns outrage over it while throwing around obscenities and profanity on a regular basis either.
Two of my favorite responses to people who clutch their pearls and get the vapors when this word appears are
“My former neighbors, the Shatwells, do not deserve your outrage.” and “A dear old saint, now passed on to her reward, once commented to me that when she was growing up on the farm, there was shit everywhere, and they stepped in it, shoveled it, and spread it regularly. It just was. Nothing to get all upset about.”
