I occasionally see/hear frustrated people writing/muttering (or louder) about revolution as the solution the “feddle gummint” seems to be pushing its citizens subjects towards.
Better think long and hard on that, is my first council. We’re a loooooong way from needing a “solution” that, urm, revolutionary. Besides, as a “Dwarven Rifleman” (interesting fictional character) observed,
“It may seem a fine thing in song or story to be ankle-deep in the blood of your enemies but in reality it’s slippery, smells bad and is nearly impossible to get out of your socks afterwards.”
Yeh. Think long and hard before electing to pursue a course that would likely ruin every pair of socks you own. . . Just reconsider, mmK?

Seems like good advice to me. Still, sometimes it seems the treadmill is going faster than we can run.
Indeed, Perri, but as Jerry Pournelle often reminds his interlocutors, despair is a deadly sin, to which I might add, “For we are saved by hope; but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?” etc. There are definitely forces at work that the Hivemind and the rest of the power structure are definitely working to keep “unseen“–away from the collective awareness of the sheeple, but facts (and truth) are stubborn things, and reality exacts a price regardless any lies by “reality-based fantasists”. What cannot be sustained will not be sustained. I just keep telling myself (and others) that and do whatever I can to “rage, rage against the dying of the light,” as it were. (Yeh, the Apostle Paul and Dylan Thomas in one para. Go figure. *heh* At least the citations were equally eisegeted. *LOL* But then, making new application not necessarily within the original intent of the author is pretty darned Pauline anyway. :-))
