Here’s one answer:
Good stuff. Why is the guy giving his talk in someone’s walk-in closet? (Note: exaggeration for effect. *heh*) Because most people can’t handle the truth.
“Cliff’s Notes” version* here.
*Yeh, yeh: I’ve note “updated” my lexicon to the newer “Cliffs Notes” or the even stupider “CliffsNotes” now in use. Heck, I only looked at–someone else’s–CLiff’s Notes on a book one time…and found it to be lacking (since I’d actually read the book), so updating my terminology just doesn’t interest me. *heh*
Funny line: “They knew Mohamed like I know my wife.” *heh*
Much simplification. The fall of the Byzantine Empire was much more complex, of course. “…The Christianity we have today is a bloody stump [of what went before]” is not just simplistic but a material mischaracterization. Overall, though, it’s a helpful presentation. Could’ve used more of the slides he referred to early on, but others inserted were useful.
Not bad.
The thing is, to know what Islam really teaches and who Muslims really are, one must
The truly disturbing thing about Islam is that its bloody, violent, savage, brutal history IS EXACTLY IN LINE WITH WHAT MOHAMED TAUGHT.
Go the other way with the religion it’s most often classed with/compared to–Christianity. Any bloody, violent, savage brutalities are IN DIRECT OPPOSITION TO THE TEACHINGS OF CHRIST and his disciples.
Interesting, and would lead any sane person to hope that those who call themselves Muslims are liars and apostates (rejecting Mohamed’s clear teachings to FORCE unbelievers into submission by whatever violent means necessary, up to an including simply killing them if they do not submit. It would also lead any sane person to hope that those who call themselves Christians would actually be faithful followers of the guy who taught, “Love your enemy; do good to him who curses you,” and that we are to love others as we do ourselves.
The contrast could not be more stark. Any person with more active brain cells than a shredded, rotten head of cabbage would rather live in a society influenced by the latter values than one influenced by the former values, eh?
