Since the materials list to re-roof our home come in at roughly half what I had feared (that’s the danger of physically going to the manufacturer’s plant and personally getting a bid for materials *heh*), it looks like the roofing project is on for this summer.
Oh, well. At least I get to buy some cool tools and equipment to make the job go faster/safer. ILIWAPCT, don’t you?
Looks like it’s time to start rounding up the crew… ๐
A friend of ours came by today and repaired some broken shingles. We had a huge oak limb crash down last week and I’m not much for getting up on ladders. My friend did it for the price of a pack of shingles and some spare change. I told Lucy that she needed to make him a pie or something to thank him properly.
You should give him a bagel. (A bagel just for putting on a roof? *heh*)
I, too, am a bit uncomfortable doing work on the roof–2 storys is a bit of a fall at my age–but I have safety attachments coming and a safety harness and rope on loan, so *shrugs* I’ll just swallow my discomfort and do what needs to be done.
