  1. I worked on making keys for a truck yesterday in our heat (only 101). The factory key code was no good so I had to sit in the truck while picking the ignition so it could be removed, decoded and a key made. Then had to program the key system. Normally a straight up job; but with it being so hot my mind started to vapor lock.

    I walked to my truck to get a specialty tool, turned around and began working on the door lock; only it was the door of the truck next to the one I was supposed to work on; wasted a few more minutes when it dawned on me the paint was a different color. Silly but that’s what happens when you over heat.

    I did eventually make the key work; someone had either changed the combination or whoever recorded the information had transposed two cuts (35 became 53). All’s well that ends well. Drink your Gatorade.
